Biografia
Iván Pérez is a Spanish choreographer based in the Netherlands. Iván has formerly danced with Netherlands Dance Theater (NDT) and IT dansa and received his degree in Performing Arts from the University Rey Juan Carlos. Iván has focused on his own choreography since 2011 and has created works for companies such as Netherlands Dance Theater 1 and 2, Compañía Nacional de Danza, Ballet Moscow, Balletboyz, River North Dance Chicago and National Ballet of Cuba, among others. He is currently Associate Choreographer with the Dutch production house Korzo, financially supported by The City of The Hague and Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) and the Performing Arts Fund NL. Iván Pérez has recently become a Member of the International Dance Council CID within the UNESCO. His productions tour to theaters throughout the Netherlands and international festivals. Additionally, he works with educational and training institutions throughout Europe, creating commissioned work for the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK), ArtEZ Dansacademie, University for Music and Dance Cologne (HfMT), Instituto Superior De Ensenanzas Artisticas (ISEACV), de! Kunsthumaniora, La Jove Companyia, and NDT Summer Intensives. Iván develops his own movement research and dance methodology in different theaters, festivals and schools: Tanzlabor_21 Mousonturm, Codarts, Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, Opificio in movimento, Gerald Collins Foundation, Korzo Theater, Holland Dance Festival, Open Look Festival, etc. He has received the 1st place at the Burgos New-York Choreographic Competition, “Revelation Artist” Cultura Viva Foundation, 3rd place at the Choreographic Competition of Madrid, 1st place at the Young Creators Competition, special mention with Dance Marathon Madrid, RCH prize Best Interpretation for Polvo.
